3. Dog and Pony Show
Thesis Showcase
Dog and Pony Show was staged as a thesis showcase around the act of looking: peering, circling, leaning in, and piecing together an image from partial views. The installation used small apertures, reflective surfaces, suspended objects, and photographed fragments to slow down the viewer's movement through the gallery.
The work asked visitors to negotiate distance and intimacy at the same time. Images were embedded inside sculptural forms, turning the gallery into a sequence of thresholds where a viewer had to use their body to complete the picture.

This work is in conversation with Interlude Time Capsule, specifically Peephole B2, which depicts a bookshelf filled with family heirlooms, including my great grandmother's silver tea set. The suspended etching isolates that object from its original setting and asks it to become both image and artifact.
Through glass, shadow, reflection, and scale, the piece turns familiar domestic objects into unstable evidence. The viewer is asked to move between recognition and uncertainty, tracing how memory changes when it is mediated through an image, a peephole, or a projected silhouette.
